Interesting idea...

That's an interesting idea - but I'm not sure it's the best thing for the project. For each payment PayPal takes a standard fee + a percentage of the transaction. So, out of each $1 you'll send The 1 Second Film will only get about $0.70.

I would recommend collecting your money and make a bigger one-time donation -- or if you want to split it up, send a donation maybe every 4 months :)

The $1 donations are largely symbolic. We only net .67 on $1 donations. Larger donations of $10 or more are much more efficient with regard to transaction fees.

Overall, offering the option of making a small monthly donation is a great idea. We couldn't afford to securely implement that functionality with our current site, but it's something we are looking into with our next site upgrade.
