Hi, my name is Nirvan. I'm the director of The 1 Second Film, and keep this blog as a production journal. We also have an open Producers Blog and a collection of perfect moments.
What a start! Yesterday was day 1 of our Road to Oprah tour. Our plan: to drive around LA and raise some money for the road, visiting Hollywood, etc, ending up at Venice for a nice sunset on the beach. First, we visited the set of a Philip K. Dick novel being produced by our producer, Stephen Nemeth. We met a ton of cool folks who were really supportive; we raised about $170 with the help of dozens. Then we rolled to Hollywood; we pulled up outside Mann's Chinese Theater around 3pm and Darth Vader jumped on to our bus. Everyone was laughing as Darth Vader gave us words of advice. Then Levi spotted some smoke coming out of the wall of our bus, and yelled "fire". The mood changed instantly. Levi tried to pull the bus over safely, I looked out the widow expecting to see flames. I saw a bunch of smoke billowing from our fuse box, grabbed our fire extinguisher and Darth Vader and I jumped out, ran around to the fuse box and extinguished the electrical fire. It was pretty unreal. Turna out Darth Vader is an electrician, and a bit of an auto mechanic...
we ended up stuck in front of Mann's Chinese theater for 3 hours waiting for a tow truck. we sang songs and sold credits, raising enough to pay for the $175 tow to Chuy's Auto Electric, where we were fixed up the next day, and are now back on the road, headed to Vegas.
more coming soon + video... we are fine, fixed, and back on the road. Driving to Vegas... internet not working yet. bought some Sprint wireless cards, but the entire Sprint network seems to be down? Sprint sucks. Will try to post next time we get internet, with some video of our adventure.

jumpin back on the road,

Can't believe I got that pun out as tired as I am right now... Okay 1) VERY glad all is well and was not a worse situation! 2) Talk about fortune smileing! What better place to break down than in front of Manns hello you couldn't get that kinda set up ever! Also When do you have Electrician Darth Vaders jump on buses.. bout the only way to sum it up "ONLY IN LA!"
Thanks for the twitter info although I didn't quite understand at first that my posts were not just going on your page and I already have a stalker opps I mean follower.
House has been cleaned which lead to another refilling of the office dang it! BUT all the attack dust bunnies have been nutralized! Looking forward to hearing more about the trip but do need some more info on the getting kicked out of the parking lot I am sensing there is a story there....
Things are finally starting to cool down at work, but sounds like it's really starting to heat up for you. Wow, that was pretty bad.
You know what's even worse? Not catching up with you guys before you left town. Sorry for skipping out on the Cabaret, and apparently missing you on Hollywood Blvd. The advantage of breaking down there is you get all sorts of "free" foot traffic and eyeballs from tons of tourists and random people.
And who knew the costumed performers were actual people with actual jobs? I worked at the El Capitan for a month, and thought they were all just failed actors this whole time :/
Look forward to keeping up with the rest of your adventures. Have a great weekend, wherever y'all are :)
Thanks Ed! Sorry you missed the cabaret. We are on the Road to Oprah, headed to a presentation in New Orleans
