My Bio
My name is Jason Fowler. I was born and raised in Hawaii. I'm 20 years old now, and I've always been interested in film. I've made a few short films with friends, for fun and for school projects, and I worked a short stint as an assistant cinematographer at a wedding cinematography business. I am a hobbyist photographer, and am currently experimenting with "toy cameras" that use medium format film. I'm heading into my senior year at Hawaii Pacific University, and am exploring the possibility of starting a wedding photography business along with some friends. I really like the idea of and spirit behind The 1 Second Film, and am happy to be a part of it.
Why are you supporting The 1 Second Film project?
The whole collaborative vibe of this project is awesome, and I'm excited to be a part of it. I think this is a great way for me to get involved, in some small way, with a good cause. And the fact that I'll be sorta famous is pretty awesome, too. Way to go!

    Site Upgrades: Varnish Installed + 2 Week Hiatus

    This week, we finally got Varnish installed on our servers. Varnish helps our Drupal site performance by making better use of cache to serve up content (instead of the database), and will allow our site to handle a lot more anonymous visitors (hopefully!).

    We are still making other site improvements. The site is still pretty slow, and we also need to improve performance for logged in users. Basically, there is a lot of tech to do. We don't have the resources to do everything, but we want to make  sure we make the most of what we have.
