My Bio
The University of Baltimore, "UB", is a member of the University System of Maryland and comprises the School of Law, the Yale Gordon College of Liberal Arts and the Merrick School of Business. On October 22, 2007, the UB Student Events Board (www.ubalt.edu/seb) had the pleasure of hosting the 1-Second Film on our campus. We really enjoyed our day with Nirvan, the crew, and the Evangenitals. Not only were all involved extremely impressed by the efforts of the 1-Second Film, but we were motivated and inspired by the creativity and unique approach to collaborative art and social entrepreneurship. Come back to Baltimore soon...next time on a Friday instead of a Monday, so 'B-more' can show up in droves!
What are some things you're doing to help make this film?
We keep telling people about it, and we'll hopefully be able to contribute some content once finals are over!!
Why are you supporting The 1 Second Film project?
Staying true to Baltimore's motto, "BELIEVE", the UB Student Events Board truly believed in the efforts of the 1-Second Film. We were collectively intrigued by and wanted to support the initiatives of the 1-Second Film. They are relevant on many leveles to the goals of so many at UB...from community studies and civic engagement, social and traditional entrepreneurship, to communications, law, public administration...and more.

UofBaltimore's Perfect Moment

If you had to choose a 'perfect moment' from your life to make into a one-second film, what would it be?

Now.

This week, we finally got Varnish installed on our servers. Varnish helps our Drupal site performance by making better use of cache to serve up content (instead of the database), and will allow our site to handle a lot more anonymous visitors (hopefully!).

We are still making other site improvements. The site is still pretty slow, and we also need to improve performance for logged in users. Basically, there is a lot of tech to do. We don't have the resources to do everything, but we want to make  sure we make the most of what we have.
