Our Making Of Documentary

A feature-length "making of" documentary will play during our estimated one-hour of end credits. While the credits are listing everyone who participates, our documentary will tell the story of this idea's journey from start to finish, detailing how so many people joined together for one moment.

Open Source Production

We're creating this film using tools that have only recently made collaboration of this scale possible. To enable participation, we have built our own social network from the ground up, using Drupal's open-source CMS. Our entire production has been crowdfunded dollar-by-dollar, and our finished documentary will include photos and video being submitted by our crew around the world. How to Participate 

Post-Production Process

We already have over 400 hours of footage and counting, so editing is going to be a beast. We estimate it will take at least one year to edit our documentary (once we've raised funds for our full-time editor). Our production is micro-funded by public, so our rate of progress is relative to the rate of support. If you would like to help us finish post-production, please Donate to become our Producer. Everyone who donates $1 or more will get a Producer Credit in our film, and donations are tax-deductible.

We rely on donated services and volunteers to keep costs down. Computers and Final Cut Pro for editing our documentary have been generously donated courtesy of Apple. 70mm services and post-production space have been generously donated courtesy of FotoKem Film & Video.
