'1-Second Film' Tour Stops at UB Oct. 22

The "1-Second Film" tour—a 10,000-mile journey across the country to promote the making of "the world's biggest shortest film" as a fund- and awareness-raiser for the Global Fund for Women, will stop at the University of Baltimore campus on Monday, Oct. 22.

For a small contribution, participants in the "1-Second Film" project will be credited as producers of the film, which will consist of one second of animation and 90 minutes of credits, including an open-source feature-length making-of documentary. All profits from the project will be donated to the fund, which is designed to advance women's human rights around the world.

The UB Student Events Board is inviting members of the UB community and the public to stop by the presentation—the only Baltimore area stop on this national, bio-diesel bus trek.

The event will take place as follows:

Noon to 4 p.m.: Bio-diesel tour bus is parked in UB's Gordon Plaza (intersection of Maryland and W. Mt. Royal avenues); a sign-up for producers will take place.

4 to 6 p.m.: The event moves to the Langsdale Auditorium, located in the Langsdale Library at 1420 Maryland Ave., where a special "1-Second Film" presentation will take place and a live concert will be offered.

6 to 8 p.m.: An informal meet and greet with "1-Second Film" officials will take place in the UB Student Center second floor lounge, 21 W. Mt. Royal Ave.
