What is IMDb?

IMDb is the Internet Movie Database, the world’s largest collection of information about motion pictures, actors, cast, crew, etc. IMDb began in 1990 as a list of actors on a message board and gradually grew with the help of volunteer contributions. IMDb was acquired by Amazon in 1998 and is visited by over 40 million movie lovers per month.

Is The 1 Second Film listed on IMDb?

With the help of Stephen Colbert, IMDb began listing the credits of The 1 Second Film in May of 2005. This led to thousands of people around the world discovering our project while searching our various celebrity producers. IMDb then stopped listing our credits individually in February of 2007 and removed over 3,000 of our producer credits that had been entered, including all of our celebrity producers. Why did IMDb remove The 1 Second Film's producer credits?

We do not believe IMDb has disclosed the real reason. Before removing our credits, IMDb indicated that our film needed to receive more publicity to aintain its listing. We were waiting to launch press until our website could be automated and requested 3 months to do so. IMDb agrred to give us a 3 month timeline to launch our website and a press release, however, only 2 weeks later, they removed all of our credits without notice.

Will IMDb be listing The 1 Second Film's credits in the future?

We do not know. We can not guarantee IMDb service or listings. We have offered to give IMDb accurate bulk listings of our producer credit names in order to automate the process. IMDb has indicated they are open to this solution, but there is no guarantee. Thee is also the potential tht the credits will be listed after the film is completed or after the project receives significant press coverage.

No. IMDb is an independent database owned and operated by Amazon. The site is controlled by a small group of people wo decide what information to include.
