We want this site to be a place our producers feel at home; we understand that privacy is an important part of creating a comfortable on-line community. If you have any questions, suggestions, or concerns about our privacy policy, feel free to share them in our producer forum or to contact us directly.
The1SecondFilm.com ("our Site”) is a collaborative community of individuals (“Producers”) who have donated to the completion of a non-profit film ("The 1 Second Film"). Each Producer will receive a credit in our film and can also create a Producer Profile on our Site that displays personal information of his or her choosing. This information is used by our Producers to network with other Producers who have also contributed to the film. Each Producer agrees to allow The 1 Second Film to use his or her credited name and likeness to promote our non-profit production.
Our Site collects Producer-submitted information such as name, email, and age to authenticate Producers. This helps create a more secure community. Our Site also collects other optional information including personal interests, gender, age, education and occupation to assist Producers in finding, communicating, and collaborating with each other.
The Site also logs non-personally-identifiable information including IP address, aggregate user data, and browser type, from Producers and visitors to the site. This data is used to manage the website, track usage and to provide and improve the website services. This non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third parties to provide relevant services, attract sponsorship, grant applications, as well as for security purposes.
Producer profile information, including Producers' pictures and credited names, are displayed in order to provide a preview of our film's credits and to facilitate Producer participation in The 1 Second Film's collaborative community. We also may use a producer’s email address to send a newsletter or updates regarding our production. Producers may choose not to receive these email updates by changing their "newsletter notification" setting to "Do not send me notification emails" in the producer's "Account Settings." Producers can also choose to set their profile to “private.”
In good faith, The 1 Second Film allows individuals to make a donation in the name of a friend or loved one. The individual making the donation assumes full responsibility for the credit and agrees to inform the recepient of the gift within 14 days of the registration. Recepients of a gift credit can choose to remove their name from our site at any time; in this case, the donations will be applied anonymously. In the case of gift credits made in memory of a deceased loved one, the producer name should include "In memory of" or "in loving memory of" as part of the screen credit. Individuals can not gift credit someone that they do not personally know; gift credits are reserved to close friends and family. Celebrities and public personalities are excluded from receiving gift credits. Trademarked entities can not be given a producer credit unless by an official representative. Please see our Terms of Use for more.
While we will never share your private personal information with a third party, there may be times when we share aggregate usage information and generic profile information in a non-personal manner with third parties in order to provide information about our project, apply for grants, or to present targeted events and services relevant to our production.
