Blaine is a Canadian filmmaker and band member of The New Pornographers. Thurier volunteered to help Nirvan run camera while selling credits at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, and ended up offering to loan Steve Buscemi a dollar. Buscemi accepted, and became an Associate Producer, crediting Blaine as his benefactor. Blaine is half hoping to get paid back some day.
