Kenny “Von Dutch” Howard began as a sign painter. He became known for his pin striping and detailing of cars and motorcycles. His name and work have become synonymous with the Kustom Kulture (rockabilly greaser) movement of the 1950s. He was a self taught mechanic. He was a self proclaimed loner. He was an artist. It is hard to tell if he ever realized it.
Von Dutch’s name and legacy have become a worldwide movement.
Why I'm producing The 1 Second Film:
The Von Dutch Garage aims to support and showcase artists who are reinventing something old or starting something new. Those who live, work, and create outside of the box.
Von Dutch's LA headquarters is becoming home to djs, songwriters, graffiti artists, poets, mechanics, and trapeze artists. Check in with us if you would like to be a part of it.
Some things I'm doing to help make this film:
Von Dutch donated silk screened T's for The 1 Second Film's Road to Oprah tour.
