Here is a funny moment from the road in Houston TX with one of our new producers, Gary Sapone, who freestyles a mouthful.
Wanted to thank our Swedish Producer William Johansson for making this cool video promo. (William made the music too!)
Hey everyone,
iJustine made this nice video about her recent visit to our office, with music by The Evangenitals!
I wanted to give a warm welcome all of our new producers who have joined our crew recently after watching this video, it's super cool to see this spreading and new people joining up from around the world. I really really appreciate it!
Hey everyone, we put together a little video from iJustine and Brooke's visit, who came by our office a few weeks ago with Evan. Check it out:
big thanks to Marcin who has been volunteering and helped edit this.
before posting this video, i joined a really awesome (free) video publishing service called TubeMogul.com which allowed us to upload this video once and then distribute it to multiple video sharing sites like YouTube, blip.tv, myspae, yahoo, revver, etc. this is a HUGE timesaver, and motivated me to sign up to many different video sites that i haven't tried before. it will be interesting to experiment with web traffic.
Coolio is now Producer #9,131 of The 1 Second Film!
I was at a dinner party last night and Coolio was there helping to cook. Los Angeles is sort of absurd that way. It was at the house of a friend - and another of our producers :)
Coolio actually has a cooking show called "Cooking with Coolio" on MyDamnChannel. He is a really cool guy and a great story teller with tons of interesting tales to tell. Definitely a nice guest to have at a dinner party and a welcome producer to have on our little movie.
Since we had the day off from production today (at least nobody gave me anything to do) I spent the day at the Southern CA Linux Expo in Los Angeles (at the LAX Westin Hotel.) There were a lot of geeks on the Expo showroom floor. I was more interested in casting for The 1 Second Film, but since I didn't have authority, I didn't take action.
There were some really hot ladies in the hotel lobby. If only I was asked, "take them up to a room for a read." That would have been nice. But no... I had to listen to Open Source promoters tell me, "blah, blah, blah." I didn't understand a thing they were saying. I just couldn't take my eyes off the hot blond in the lobby. {read more - click below}
Saturday we started painting our bus; before the volunteers arrived, I ran to the local hardware store to get supplies. By chance, I ran into Dr. Drew Pinsky from Loveline as he was buying lightbulbs. I have learned to carry 1 Second Film fliers with me everywhere I go just because of things like this. I introduced myself, gave him a flier, and told him about The 1 Second Film. Dr. Drew is a really nice guy- he thought the project was really interesting and wanted to become a producer on the spot! He chipped in $20, which I put toward the paint. :) Thanks Dr. Drew, and welcome to our crew! To add Dr. Drew to your crew, visit Dr. Drew's Producer Profile = http://the1secondfilm.com/producer/7715
So Kiefer Sutherland has already been bumped from our #8 top spot. Scott Shui just moved to #8 by upping his previous donation of $555.55 to $666. Scott originaly became our Executive Producer after finding us via YouTube. He says: "I'm donating for fun and to advertise my services as a Savior Consultant via my web site." http://spot.shui.googlepages.com/home I had never heard of a Savior Consultant before. I noticed Scott posted some advice for specific people on his homepage, including some advice for Ben Goldhirsh wedged between Bill Gates and Keanu Reeves.
Well, after what I thought was a surreal Day 1, which included sneaking into our Associate Producer David LaChapelle's party, we had an even more absurd Day 2. First of all, I didn't know where I was going to stay. By chance, I ended up running into my good friend Noaz Deshe from LA.
Noaz is one of our Associate Producers and was at Sundance filming a project with Bob Odenkirk; they were being put up by the Sundance Channel at a giant 3 story condo. Noaz checked with Bob, who was totally cool with letting me sleep on their couch. Then I got to show Bob The 1 Second Film and some of my animated shorts. Bob really liked the concept and came on board as an Associate Producer (with the goal of moving up later). He also interviewed us for the segment he was shooting for the Sundance Channel, so maybe we will get a little exposure.

We showed Sabrina the video of Vernell and Dana accepting her challenge, and Sabrina stepped up and threw down another $25, bringing her total to $150.
But before another day had passesd, our Miami Execs sent us $63 to top Sabrina and bring their total to $200!
Things are really starting to heat up. This kind of competition is really the next level. With any luck, we will raise enough money to be able to but some proper equipment for making the documentary. As it is, our sound is going to be really awful.
