So, I checked my MySpace and found someone in my Friends List has made an interesting bulletin about Barack Obama is a terrorist and she's seriously scared that our country will go to shit if he's elected. I'm not going to try to persuade votes but people just need to get their info corrected and just don't go by word of mouth... This is the whole email conversation I had with them, (You probably want to read from bottom to top because that's how the message shows) I also rearrange their name so that's not their actual MySpace account. Two days ago I received a FWD to my inbox that I'd received once before, but deleted it after reading only the first two lines. This time I read it in full.
YIKES!
A feeling of disgust that I'd deleted the FWD the first time washed over me. Why didn't I read it and respond to the sender then? If I were at a party and heard someone actually saying the words written in the FWD, I would constructively and in love respond to the storyteller. So, why did I not do that with an email?
Having been a Flight Attendant for United Airlines and having worked United flight 93 for more than two years, I felt even more disgusted in my heart that I did not respond sooner.
Low and behold I woke up to this news alert on me. Luckily it wasn't me, but its a sobering experience to wake up to your own obituary. It turns out Jon Bonnell, Jr died when he stepped on an improvised explosive device in the Al Anbar province of Iraq.
Now, I was no where near Iraq, and I'm not making light of this soldier and his family. It was just very eye opening to see my own name and realize how close to home our excursion in Iraq is.
